Flexible Retirement Planner Mac and Linux Installation Package.

This software requires Java to be installed on your
system. It does not require the Java web browser plugin.

There are two options for installing and running the software.

1) Automatic install

Uncompress this archive and double click 'launch-frp-application.jnlp'.

The automatic JNLP installer requires an Internet connection
and Java Web Start. Web start will use the .jnlp file to
automatically fetch the latest application file (frp.jar)
from the flexibleRetirementPlanner website and
create a desktop launch icon.

Java Web Start comes standard with Oracle's
Java and can be added to Linux systems using IcedTea:
     http://icedtea.classpath.org/wiki/IcedTea-Web
     https://www.azul.com/products/components/icedtea-web/
Instructions vary by Linux Distro. Google your linux distro and iced tea web
for more instructions.

After you do the automatic install, you might want to open the
Example.frp sample input file from within the planner. In addition
to basic inputs on the main page, the example input file has several
additional inputs entries to demonstrate ways to use that feature.

2) Manual Install

If the automatic install doesn't work or you'd prefer to do things
manually, you can simply move frp.jar file somewhere and launch it
with a java runtime environment (JRE) or Java Development Kit (JDK) by right-clicking
and selecting open-with. You can get java at java.com or using whatever software/package
manager your system uses to install java. For linux systems it's often best to google
your distro name and java to see the recommended way to install java on your
specific distribution.

Depending on your system, you might need to modify the permissions of
frp.jar to set a flag allowing it to be executed (review properties/permissions).
Once you do that, you can right-click frp.jar, choose open-with, then select
your system's java jre to run the program.

The manual install folder has some icon files in case you'd
like to create a desktop shortcut to launch the jar.
